We’re a small but passionate group of jubensha enthusiasts based in Toronto. After having played dozens of games between us, we’re dedicated to bringing our favourite genre of social gaming beyond East Asia.
Although our physical presence is in Toronto, we are growing an international community of jubensha lovers and designers in our Discord server.
Who we are
I first played jubensha with a group of Chinese friends in my hometown of Toronto in 2018. I absolutely loved the game and went online to find more in English so I could play with other friends, but to my dismay, there were none!
Once COVID-19 hit, I had some free time to translate Chinese games, and began hosting them with my friends. I loved being the GM and seeing how different groups act as their characters and approach the puzzles.
Starting in 2023, I began writing my own jubensha using my knowledge of existing Chinese jubensha and an understanding of what appeals to a Western audience. My first published work will come out in early 2026!
I am excited to be a founder of Twist ‘n Turn Studios where I can contribute to the growing world of jubensha in the West.

I first fell in love with Jubensha back in 2017. What drew me in wasn’t just the mystery it was the roleplaying, the feeling of stepping into another person’s life and experiencing the world through their perspective. By 2019, I began hosting offline English language Jubensha games, hoping to share that immersive experience with people who had never encountered this style of storytelling before.
Over the years, I’ve discovered how powerful these games can be. They bring strangers together, spark meaningful conversations, and turn every participant into a storyteller. That sense of shared discovery is what inspires me the most.
As one of the founders of Twist ‘n Turn Studio, I’m really excited to bring Jubensha to a wider audience and create original, engaging stories that players can truly live through with our amazing team.
With Twist ‘n Turn Studio, my goal is simple: to continue building experiences that transport players into new worlds—filled with mystery, emotion, and unforgettable moments.

I first discovered Jubensha in 2022, during my second year of university and I was instantly hooked. The mix of social interaction and logical deduction completely drew me in. Then, in late 2024, while chatting with a good friend about this amazing genre, I realized something: it’s only available in Chinese! You have to be able to read Chinese to really enjoy the game.
That’s when I decided I wanted to bring Jubensha to a wider audience. I’m so excited to start introducing it to the Western community, and I hope you’ll feel the same thrill and curiosity I did the very first time I played!
